THE SHADOW

Time the Eternal Conjurer;
Always watching you dear;
You the Shadow!

Commanding;
Modeling;
Modulating;
Also fooling.

At times in my front;
At times rear;
Long, short;
Stout or lean;
And so on.

Time is clever;
Is always the Sure!

Shadow!
The idiot has to obey;
The Time the Master!

In the morning;
You are long;
East-west;
In the evening too;
West-east!

The shadow-
The marker of Time!

Day-night;
My co-traveller!
